Facade Mapping |
In order to give CAD Models of buildings a more realistic appearance, images of the buildings facade are taken with a still video camera. These images usually exhibit some perspective distortions, because they have been taken in a certain angle to the facade. Using some simple single image photogrammetric processing these distortions can be removed from the image and a pseudo ortho image can be generated as displayed below. |

I have written a software in Java for this purpose which is most simple to use. Over 200 facade images have been processed with this software. These images were used to generate realistic 3D city models. You can see a movie created from such data here. |
